Can you believe it is October already? I love fall and all that October brings. I love sitting out on the back porch at night and roasting marshmallows. I love the watching the leaves as they change colors. But one of my favorite things about October is the cool weather that makes me get back into cooking. I love buying apples and making apple butter, apple sauce and all things apple. Now is a great time to stock up on apples and all these other great deals. You can see and print my buy price to stockpile items here.

Seasonal Produce: Apples (see how to store apples here), Pumpkins, Pears, Beets, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Oranges, Figs, Sweet Potatoes, and Winter Squash.

Foods: We will see lots of candy sales this month. It’s a great time to buy lots of candy for all year long. Baking items will start to go on sale. This is a great time to stock up on oils, flours, and sugars. Plus you will find lots of chili’s and soup deals. It’s also National Seafood month so we will see lots of seafood deals.

Other Items: Halloween Costumes and decorations are the big one this month. Most stores start their clearance a week before Halloween so holding off until the last minute can pay off. Camping season is over so you can stock up on any camping supplies. Plus, October is a great time to take a trip. You can get some great deals on hotel and resorts.

What do you like to stock up on in October?
